On Beyond Cancer

My life with metastatic breast cancer

Thank you to my support team!! August 1, 2013

Today I’d like to send a big thank you to the friends and family who have been helping us out.  This month in particular has been a tough one, with me starting a new chemo,  Mike feeling a little under the weather, and the kids being out of school.  We are so lucky to have all of you.  Thanks to the grandparents (Jeff, Jolene, Margie, Tom, Bill, and Tina) the boys have enjoyed sleepovers, swimming, mini-golf, trips to the park and library, movies, been taken back and forth to camp and playdates and much more.  We would really be up a creek without a paddle if we didn’t have your support.  My aunts and uncles, Amy, Bob, Cindy, and Joe (who are the boys great aunts/uncles) have treated the boys to a BBQ, croquet, and new toys, read tons of books, helped with summer school work, and listened to endless stories about Legos and science experiments.  Our friends Cheryl, Craig, Sonya, and Keith have been a huge help with sleepovers, swimming, playdates, and camp transportation.  Also at keeping me sane!  Thanks also to those of you who have sent notes of encouragement and care packages (esp Cousin Nancy, my sis in law Jennifer), given me style advice, and accompanied me to appointments.  My favorite note I received was from my 91 year old great aunt, she is such a wonderful lady and such an inspiration, like an honorary grandma to me, and my mom and her daughter read the blog to give her updates since she “doesn’t do Facebook.”  Thanks and love to you all.  Have a wonderful day!

You’re welcome. It is my honor. Just ask, Karissa, and I will do whatever I can to help you, support you, and make things easier for you and Mike ( plus I love my grandsons). And always know that I love you very, very much ( infinity very much as Sara would say). Love, Mom
